Scribblings – Driftwood Child

My name, on wet sand,

large as a lighthouse,

halo of footprints round.

My J a swirl of pink shells.

Razor I dotted with a ridged half-cockle.

One l of shimmery seaweed,

the other, marbled pebbles.

When the tide scraped out,

it raked it all up with foamy nails,

left splinters of shell

on wet sand.
